Summer Book Recommendations

As we wrap up summer, I wanted to share some of the books I read this summer that are perfect poolside reads. These books are mostly rom-com-styled books directed towards adult audiences. If you have other recommendations, I would love to hear them!

ENJOY! ♡

1. Just for the Summer - Abby Jimenez

"It's supposed to be a quick fling, just for the summer. But when Emma's toxic mother shows up and Justin has to assume guardianship of his three siblings, they're suddenly navigating a lot more than they expected--including catching real feelings for each other. What if this time Fate has actually brought the perfect pair together?"

This book perfectly blends cutesy, lovey-dovey, and heart-wrenching moments. The main characters meet through a Reddit thread and the rest is history. They spend the summer learning more about the other and try to break a "curse" they both think they have when it comes to dating. This book is an easy read and is one that you will not want to put down. I absolutely love the characters in this book and think it was one of my favorites that I read this summer!

2. Flawless - Elsie Silver

"She says this means nothing.

Rhett says this means everything.

She says there are boundaries they shouldn't cross. That Rhett's reputation can't take any more hits…and neither can her damaged heart.

Rhett says he's going to steal it anyway."

I love a good cowboy romance book. This one was top-tier and has got me hooked on the Chestnut Springs series. I read this book in a matter of days because of how addicting the chemistry was between these two characters. Rhett Eaton is definitely one of the best book boyfriends ever.

3. Wildfire - Hannah Grace

"Russ knows breaking the camp’s strict “no staff fraternizing” rule will have him heading back to Maple Hills before the summer is over, but unfortunately for him, Aurora has never been very good at caring about the rules. Will the two learn to peacefully coexist? Or did their one night together start a fire they can’t put out?"

Unpopular opinion: I LOVE the Maple Hills series and think they are great books. I love the chemistry between the love interests and love that Russ finally got his own book. This is another book that showcases the struggles that these two character have faced and how they are able to overcome them together. I think I enjoyed this book better than Icebreaker (although both are great)!

4. Archer's Voice - Mia Sheridan

"I wanted to lose myself in the small town of Pelion, Maine. To forget everything I had left behind. The sound of rain. The blood. The coldness of a gun against my skin. For six months, each breath has been a reminder that I survived--and my dad didn't. I'm almost safe again. But the moment I meet Archer Hale, my entire world tilts on its axis . . . and never rights itself again."

I wish I could reread this book again for the first time. Archer Hale is such a sweetheart and his story is heartbreaking. This book took me on a rollercoaster of emotions and I loved every second of it. If you love romance, but also want to cry, this is the book for you.

5. What Happens After Midnight - K.L. Walther

"Lily Hopper has two more weeks until she's officially finished with boarding school. With graduation quickly approaching Lily is worried that she's somehow missed out on the fun of being in high school. So, when she receives a mysterious note inviting her to join the anonymous senior class Jester in executing the end-of-year prank, Lily sees her chance to put her goody-two-shoes reputation behind her."

If you loved, "The Summer of Broken Rules", I definitely recommend checking out the other books that K.L. Walther has written. I love how original this plot feels and Lily Hopper is such a genuine and relatable character. This is a great young-adult read and is such cutesy read!
